GAMM-Workshop on Analysis of PDEs

Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e)
27-29 September, 2017
GAMM, the Gesellschaft für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik (https://www.gamm-ev.de/index.php/) is an originally-German organization on the interface between mathematics and engineering - combining both applied mathematicians and theoretically-minded engineers.

GAMM has ‘activity groups’ on a variety of topics, including the one behind this meeting, which is called Analysis of PDEs (http://www.uni-regensburg.de/Fakultaeten/nat_Fak_I/AnalysisPDG/index.html). This is the fourth meeting in this series of meetings of this activity group; the earlier ones were very interesting mid-size workshops, with about 50-70 participants, and with a nice degree of breadth versus focus.

For the meeting in September we have an impressive lineup of speakers, including
  • Gero Friesecke (TU Munich)
  • Hermen Jan Hupkes (University of Leiden)
  • Herbert Koch (University of Bonn)
  • Christian Kuehn (TU Munich)
  • Stephan Luckhaus (University of Leipzig)
  • Alexander Mielke (WIAS Berlin)
  • Felix Otto (MPI Leipzig)
  • Matthias Roeger (TU Dortmund)
  • Mark Veraar (TU Delft)
In addition, we’ve asked a number of these to give a high-level, more philosophical talk on ‘where Analysis of PDEs is going’ - I think this will give some very interesting insight and discussion.

All are welcome to attend. If you plan to come, do please register at http://www.win.tue.nl/~otse/gamm-anapde2017/, so that we have an idea about the number of people coming.
