Mathematics of Earth Sciences
From November 28 until December 1, 2006, the workshop 'Mathematics of
Earth Sciences' will be held in Groningen. The aim of the workshop is
to provide exchange of information and to stimulate interaction
between earth scientists who apply mathematical methods and
mathematicians. The workshop is part of the activities organised
within the cluster 'Nonlinear Dynamics of Natural Systems' (NDNS+).

The workshop will be organised in six different sessions, which focus on
specific themes:
-
structure of the earth's crust and mantle
-
hydrology
-
coastal morphodynamics
-
atmospheric dynamics
-
ocean waves
-
climate variability
Each session will consist of 5 oral presentations by invited speakers
(both senior and young scientists). In the afternoons poster sessions
